Job Description
• Develop and modify an appropriate Respiratory Care Management Plan in consultation with the treating
physician on patients with pulmonary diseases. Perform patient assessment including invasive and non-invasive
monitoring and other non-invasive physiologic measurements. Monitor patient’s responses and modify
therapies based on clinical/physiologic assessments and in consultation with the treating physician.
• Perform all routine Respiratory Care modalities and procedures, as indicated by the treating physician, such as,
and not limited to:
⁻ Apply, manage and monitor oxygen therapy.
⁻ Perform Advanced Airway Management and clearance and Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for
all patient groups in the service, in emergency and non-emergency situations. Provide an effective bagvalve-mask ventilation during Codes.
⁻ Perform Tracheotomy Tube Care as needed and coordinate patient weaning and corking with the
physicians.
⁻ Administer Aerosolized Medications, in consultation with the treating physician.
⁻ Perform blood sampling via arterial puncture, and A-Line Insertion, if requested.
⁻ Assist with pulmonary diagnostic procedures, as necessary. Interpret basic EKG tracing and document
clinical assessments.
• Ensure maintenance and safe operation of the equipment.
• Provide continuing respiratory home-care, long-term care and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Assist with transporting critical, intubated and ventilated neonatal, pediatric and adult patients.
• Provide patient with instructions on proper use of therapeutic modalities and techniques, conduct patient
specialized education programs such as Smoking Cessation, Asthma Education, COPD education programs.
• Perform education and in-services to students and other health care providers on areas of expertise.
• Comply with JCIA standards, all recognized and approved infection and control safety protocols and MNGHA
standards and policies. Ensure compliance with rules and legal regulations on patient care.
• Perform other job related duties.

Registration from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties – Essential
Work Experience | Minimum of 4 year’s position-related practical experience in a tertiary care hospital, 2 years of which in critical care – Essential
Respiratory care experience in Neonatal/Pediatric Care – Preferred
Competencies |
Accepted 12 CME hours – Essential
Current BLS and ACLS certificates – Essential
Professional Membership / Registered Respiratory Therapist – Preferred
